As a CPA with over 25 years experience working with small business and running my own practice I have learned a lot. I know well the thrill and the struggle of opening and growing your own business. I also know that many businesses fail. In fact 4 out of 5 businesses cease to exist after the first year, And of these over half fail with the first 5 years of operation.
Because of my wide experience and background I know that these businesses did not fail because their owners did not know their product or service. No. In fact they knew it very well. It wasn't because they could not produce or sell. They were some of the best production and sales people you could find.
They all failed for one simple reason.
They did not know how to manage their time, their life and their business.
A successful business requires the groundwork to be in place, the systems to be up and running and the owner to manage.
